United Nations office of planetary launches and landings

An Advocacy Resource

This site is an informational and advocacy resource promoting the creation of a dedicated United Nations body to oversee planetary launches and landings. UNOLL envisions a formal office within the UN system — chartered to ensure that the rapidly expanding domain of space activity is governed with the same commitment to human rights, environmental stewardship, and international cooperation that defines the UN's founding mission.

Why It Matters

Space exploration is accelerating at an unprecedented pace. Commercial launches, satellite constellations, lunar missions, and orbital manufacturing are reshaping humanity's relationship with the Kármán Region and beyond. Yet the international legal and human rights frameworks governing these activities have not kept pace. Without proactive governance, the risks of environmental harm, inequitable access, and unchecked commercial exploitation will compound — affecting not just those who venture into space, but every person on Earth who depends on the orbital environment.

Who We Are

UNOLL is organized by Non-Linear Chaos — a research and advocacy initiative dedicated to transforming development models so that human rights and community decision-making are integrated into climate, technology, and exploration policy. We believe that the institutions humanity builds today will define the conditions of life for generations to come, and that getting space governance right is one of the most consequential challenges of our era.
